Secunderabadis the twin city of Hyderabad, located in the Indian state of Telangana. Secunderabad was founded in 1806 as a British cantonment and named after Sikandar Jah, the third Nizam of the Asaf Jahi dynasty.

Secunderabad used to have its own separate municipal unit but has since become part of Hyderabad’s GHMC municipality. The two cities together are known as Hyderabad and form the sixth largest metropolis in India.

Secunderabad, which we can also call Hyderabad, is one of the largest cantonments in India and has a large presence of army and air force personnel.
