Visakhapatnam, also known as Vizag, and is a huge port city, the largest city and port capital of Andhra Pradesh.   It’s all about industry and steel, but is also a tourist hub with local travelers coming to Vizag for the beach.  There is a beautiful pedestrian promenade all the way along Ramakrishna Beach, great for wandering, walking, enjoying the sunrise or the sunset.  The best time here are the December to February holidays when there are tons of people in the ocean, jumping over the small waves and strolling hand in hand along the promenade?

Sound romantic? It’s not all romance in Vizag.  The cit is the administrative headquarters of Visakhapatnam district and the Eastern Naval Command, so there is a lot of work connected to government, admin and finance.

Vizag is home to the oldest shipyard in India and is the only natural harbour on the East coast.  Many refer to it as the ‘Jewel of the East Coast’ and Vizag has been selected as one of the cities to be developed as a smart city.

With smart cities come IT parks.  The Vizag IT park is no different to any others.  It is also known as the Vizag Smart City and some of the companies that have their base here are HSBC, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Miracle, Symiosys and FinTech Tower.  These are multinational companies, meaning that the service Vizag offers is superb.  High tech, brilliant software, any kind of digital marketing that needs to be done can be done here.

Visakhapatnam city has excellent infrastructure with many international schools and universities.  There is a very good health care, the Metro Rail project has bought an excellent transport system, the roads are good and IT is excellent.  Put all of this together with the magnificent beach, promenade and lush green hills in the background, the city offers everything.  It’s a good place to live in, and to work in. There are many hotels for travellers and the hospitality industry and service industry is well developed.

If you are interested in Information Technology you should have a look at the Vizag IT park, and note, it is not the only IT park in the city.
