Jamnagar is in the state of Gujarat on the West coast, and is the administrative headquarters of the Jamnagar District. Alongside the natural and the beauty is also big industry. Reliance Industries have the world’s largest oil refinery in the Jamnagar District and the Essar Oil Refinery is in the town of Vadinar close by.

The city also houses over 5000 large and small brass manufacturing workshops, with brass being imported throughout Europe. Textiles and clothing are a small part of the city’s industry.

The Indian Air Force, Indian Army and Indian Navy all have base stations in Jamnagar. Jamnagar can support all defence branches as it has sea for the navy and a large air base due its strategic location near Pakistan. The city has an all-weather port, used for import and export.

Information Technology is also a big part of Jamnagar, already used in a big way with the oil industry and the army and navy.
